Level 4 Stage 11 Typing Worksheet – Full Stop & Slash

Welcome to the Level 4, Stage 11 worksheet, where young typists master two handy punctuation keys: the full stop (.) and the forward slash (/). This free printable sheet gives children clear lines to copy by hand and at the keyboard, helping them place each finger correctly. It is ideal for home or classroom practice as part of the touch-typing journey.

What you’ll practise

In this stage you learn the two right-hand keys that sit on the bottom row, next to the keys you already know. Both reaches start and finish on the home row, so your hands stay anchored.

  • The full stop (.) is typed with your right ring finger — the same finger that types the letter l.
  • The forward slash (/) is typed with your right little finger — the same finger you use for the semicolon and the letter p.
  • Technique cue: reach down for each key, then bring the finger straight back to its home-row position so your hand never wanders.
  • This builds on the comma and apostrophe from earlier stages and finishes off your punctuation, getting you ready for the final stage where you add the Shift keys and capital letters.

Type each line, then repeat it

Sit with your fingers on the home row and type every line below using the correct fingers. Repeat any line that feels tricky.

How to use this printable worksheet

Here is how to get the most from the printed sheet. The aim is steady, comfortable typing rather than speed, so encourage plenty of repetition.

  • Print the worksheet and sit with a straight back, feet flat and wrists relaxed.
  • Rest both hands on the home row before you begin each line.
  • Type each line slowly, watching that the full stop uses the right ring finger and the slash uses the right little finger.
  • Repeat every line two or three times, returning each finger to its home key after the reach.
  • When the lines feel easy and the fingers find the keys without looking, move on to the next stage.
